And then there were two. Ok well it's a bit more complicated than that. This second half of the season is wide open, and you don't have to tell the team at McLaren.

Second place in the Constructors Championship (42 points behind Red Bull), and 2nd and 4th place in the Drivers Championship. Now Verstappen leads Norris by 78 points, not an insurmountable task, but, definitely going to be tough to pass him. Lando will have to win a few races down the stretch, and hope that Red Bull and Verstappen stumble.

This is by far McLaren's best season in a very long time. The pair of Norris and Piastri is terrific. Yes they push each other, yes they question team strategies, but they are both hungry to win, and have been putting the rest of the field on notice since late 2023. McLaren has gotten their tech right, and for the most part gotten their race calls right. The only downfall thus far? A couple of on track scuffles with Verstappen, and a few unfortunate pit stops effected by safety cars, getting caught off guard on the track by the undercut, and really not much else.

Can they beat Red Bull to win the Constructors Championship? Hell yes they can. Next door over at Red Bull it's a one man show. Sergio Perez has not been making any noise on his side of the garage to quell the charge from the team in papaya. The dynamic duo has been feasting upon that slip in performance from Perez, and racking up points. The championship is there for the taking.

It's going to be an exciting second half no matter how you cut it, and no one has a better shot at dethroning the King(s) than McLaren. So hang on tight, it's going to be a wild and fun ride!
